LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF BENJAMIN MIDDLETON

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN! I, Benjamin Middleton, of Brown township, Knox county, Ohio, being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed by Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this, my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:

First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Mary Middleton, one horse, one cow, one bed and bedclothes, and one side saddle. Also her living of my landed property during her natural life.

I also give and bequeath unto my son, John Middleton, all my landed property or the place whereon I now live.

I also give my two daughters, Sarah and Experience Middleton, one cow and one bed each, as their respective share to be given to them when they stand in need of it.

I also give and bequeath unto my daughters, Prudence Huff and Nancy Ream, to each of them one dollar apiece.

Also I give and bequeath unto Nathaniel, Timothy, Jacob and James Middleton, my sons, one dollar each.

I also give and bequeath unto Mary Barr and Elizabeth Messer one dollar each.

I also will and allow that such as I have bequeathed one dollar to, that it shall be paid to each of them in two years after my decease.

I do hereby appoint John Middleton my sole executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of September, A. D., eighteen hundred and twenty-eight.
